Frederick Thomas London Top Tips

There are a couple of options you can embrace, from smart to very formal. Take your pick!

Cocktail Attire

Always a good option if you're unsure on how formal to go. A classic dark well-fitted suit is a must, pair with a crisp white shirt, along with a smart neck tie and a pair of polished oxford brogues. Simple but always sophisticated. Stay away from bold patterns and colours, so no floral shirts or printed ties. Always ensure a block white dress shirt and plain tie if you can. It will guarantee a more formal look, while also ensuring you're not stealing any attention away from the bride or groom! And if you still feel like you need to smarten up your look, always add accessories. A tie clip, beautiful pair of cufflinks, pocket square or traditional floral lapel pin can take your suit to the next level.

Black Tie

Black tie attire is the next step up for formal wear, and what a stylish dress code it is! Black tie is a very specific dress code, so is super easy to follow. Stick to the list of: Black tuxedo, black bow tie, white tux shirt and black dress shoes. Again, try not to stray away for simplicity, so no bright colours or patterns. There's not as much chance to personalise your look when it's a black tie dress code. But adding a silk pocket square, pair of suspenders or cufflinks is a subtle way you can express yourself.

Morning Suit

This is next level formal wedding dress code! A morning suit is a very special attire, but make sure you are follow the morning suit etiquette. First things first, the morning coat, is obviously the centerpiece of this dress code. Pair with a contrasting coloured waistcoat, plain tie, dress trousers, pocket square and a pair of dress shoes. A wedding dress code fit for royalty!
